Lieutenant Colonel Veljo Raide, who joined the Estonian Centre Party, says it is Estonia’s largest and oldest political party and a balancing force among political forces that tend to extremes. \”I joined the Centre Party because of my conviction to ensure a balance between romantic nationalism and romantic liberalism in Estonian politics based on natural law. In real life, neither romantic nationalism nor romantic liberalism is feasible. The Estonian way can be the peasant wisdom of our ancestors, based on Esthonianism, honesty, hard work and self-reliance. This is the worldview represented by the Estonian Centre Party,\” said Veljo Raide, who works as a project manager for development projects at Estiko Energia. Veljo Raide, who holds a doctorate, believes that the security of the Estonian state and people begins with energy security, which must be expressed in the creation of domestic production capacity, vigorous development and the growth of export capacity, the fruits of which must be reaped by all members of our Estonian society. Andro Roos, the leader of the Centre Party’s Tartu city region, welcomes Veljo Raide’s joining the Centre Party. \”In Estonian politics, unfortunately, populism is increasingly setting the tone and instead of substantive changes, the path of easier resistance is taken and people’s hands are shoved into their pockets. Veljo Raide brings life experience and determination to politics, and I am convinced that our future common path will help build Estonia and Tartu,\” said Andro Roos.
